Allergin Syrup contains chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine that helps relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and other symptoms caused by allergies, hay fever or the common cold. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance produced by your body during an allergic reaction.
Who is it for
This syrup is intended for adults and children aged 2 years and older who need relief from allergy or hay fever symptoms. Do not give to infants under 2 years. People with glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart disease, overactive thyroid, bladder or prostate problems, or liver disease should consult a doctor before use. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before taking it. Chlorpheniramine may cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol.
Dosage
For adults and children 12 years or older, the usual dose of chlorpheniramine 2 mg per 5 mL syrup is 10 mL (containing 4 mg) every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding six doses in 24 hours. Children aged 6–11 years can take 5 mL (2 mg) every 4 to 6 hours, and children aged 2–5 years can take 2.5 mL (1 mg) every 4 to 6 hours. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions, who may adjust the dosage based on age and weight.
