Arbitel Telmisartan 80 mg Tablet contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker that relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow. It is used to treat high blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in high‑risk patients, and protect kidneys in people with type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
Who is it for
This medicine is for adults with hypertension or at high cardiovascular risk who need an angiotensin II receptor blocker. It is not usually given to children. Do not take if you are allergic to telmisartan, if you have severe liver or kidney impairment or biliary obstruction. Women must not use telmisartan during pregnancy because it can harm the unborn baby; breastfeeding women should seek medical advice. Use caution if you are dehydrated, have heart valve disorders or electrolyte imbalance, or are taking diuretics or other blood pressure medicines.
Dosage
The typical dose for treating high blood pressure is 40 mg to 80 mg once daily. For reducing cardiovascular risk, 80 mg once daily is commonly recommended. Telmisartan can be taken with or without food at the same time each day. Your doctor will decide the right dose for you and may adjust it according to your response or if you have liver problems or are taking diuretics. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.
